In collaboration with bioinformaticians and programmers in Dr. Zhandong Liu's lab, we developed MARRVEL (Model organism Aggregated Resources for Rare Variant ExpLoration), a publicly accessible web-based tool that gathers useful information to support genetic diagnosis. This website can be used by clinicians who are trying to determine the best disease candidate gene and variants in a patient of interest, and also can be used by model organism biologists who wish to know the clinical relevance of their genes of interest.
