We provide a comprehensive review of the literature regarding the role of Notch signaling in the adult nervous system, including its involvement in learning & memory, addiction and sleep. Furthermore, we discuss the relationship between Notch signaling and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
